I admittedly don’t know much about Mingo outside of skimming the profile pieces on IC when it was obvious he was about to commit to UNC. I do feel like it’s easier for freshmen wings/bigs to make an instant impact than it is for younger guards though. Ideally he is an important contributor next...
Said it on a thread earlier today but this was the type of demoralizing blowout loss I was hoping we could avoid tonight because of what it might mean for the rest of the season. Just hope the team doesn’t completely roll over in the closing stretch. Moribund Syracuse as the next opponent is a...
Yep, that was my exact thought after the first few minutes as well. Just flat and uninspired. I’m not even mad, just sad to see it against State of all teams.
Can understand losing this game when we don’t have our two best players. The rest of the team immediately rolling over from the jump and just going through the motions is a tough look. We should still be putting up a better fight.
I want to be pleasantly surprised by a win tonight, but I’m just going to detach myself from this one and hope that if it does get ugly that it won’t derail the team for the next few games.
Feel for Veesaar. Achilles issues are no joke.
I also have my share of family and family friends that are State fans/grads. I’m never the one that brings up college sports around them because they get so obnoxious about it, but they rarely pass up the opportunity to take a shot at me about UNC lol. It’s kinda fascinating how much they hate...
If State is hot then I’m afraid we just don’t have the firepower on either end of the court to keep up without Veesaar and Wilson. They also lost at home to a bad GT team that was missing a starter, so I’m not ready to just wave the white flag yet either.
Understand that outside of the Duke/UNC sphere this probably seems petty since the DA is a UNC grad, but I am glad that someone is still pressing the issue here. Duke usually seems to get the benefit of the doubt with this stuff, so after seeing Scheyer immediately deflect from the loss and ESPN...
I was in undergrad at UNC from 05-09. Feel extremely fortunate to have been on campus at a time when the basketball program was at a zenith. My parents are early 80s UNC grads so I grew up on Carolina basketball. My earliest memories are Dean’s final few seasons, but realistically I came of age...
No one does. If we fired Hubert there’s honestly a good chance we wouldn’t be able to hire anyone at all actually. The players would probably have to coach themselves.
Lloyd is the best coach in the game right now for my money, but he is a west coast guy that has a good thing going at Arizona. Don’t see him leaving for any job opening, at least not this offseason.
Nate Oats has done a good job at Alabama in the sense that he has produced results well above...
I know you’re just asking that as a clever “gotcha” so you can poke a million holes into any list that gets presented, so I’m not even going to bother.
The UNC job is too stressful because our fans are a bunch of ungrateful malcontents. It’s the equivalent of wanting a busted old dresser left...
Yeah there’s a ton of time left in the season so I’m fine with waiting to see how it plays out before taking a stance here about Hubert, but I don’t understand why so many UNC fans want to downplay how desirable the HC job is. While we obviously couldn’t just throw a dart at the board and take...
