I am not sure who exactly they reached out to, but his family has stated that no one will tell them his whereabouts. They were informed he was to have surgery this morning, but when they called the hospital, they denied that he was there. So they are still waiting for answers.

He is from Raleigh and is running for Senate under the Green Party. I've known his wife and her family since I was a child. They won't tell her where he is, just that he is getting surgery today.
