Have been off the board since Election Night 2024 and just took a general break from following politics, because of Trump burnout. But the government shutdown and VA gubernatorial election sucked me back in.
In practice, I hate gerrymandering and believe it’s at the root of a lot of the issues...
No worries. He’ll just blame it on the Dems, and despite controlling both chambers of Congress, 49% of the country will believe him. 48% won’t but the other 3% will be so busy arguing with themselves it won’t matter.
IT…DIDN’T…MATTER.
There’s no different strategy that would have mattered. If she had done what you mention, it would have alienated the suburbans who didn’t like Trump. We’re so divided right now that 47% will vote for (R) to matter what
Yup
The other side put their whole ass on display, and won anyway. This country is what it is, and no amount of liberal rally cries will change that. I spent 20+ years in uniform for a mirage I thought this country was. I’m truly depressed tonight and it’s not because “liberals” (which I’m not)...
Likewise. I certainly appreciate this forum post-IC, but once this is called out I have to check out. This country is seriously as shitty as I hoped it wasn’t, and posting about it every day won’t help me.
This is depressing.
I’m a straight, white, upper-middle class male. I’m tired of caring more than the people his shitty policies will impact.
Vote against your own interests, or not at all. I’m checking out on politics.
I’d only be ok with a federal pardon for Trump from Biden on one huge condition. If granted, he can’t give one interview or put anything on social media claiming anything was stolen. The first time he does, it’s off the table.
One of the (several) things I would change about our election system is POTUS, Senate & House rules should be the same across the board…not different rules for every state. For state/local elections do it however you want but 50 states shouldn’t have 40 different ways of collecting/counting...
Ok, ouch…I read that wrong. I know flipping TX (POTUS or Senate) has always been kind of a mirage, but was hoping Dems would be driving higher turnout than that.
