I disliked Garland as AG a great deal, But given the current composition of the Supreme Court and their willingness to make special new law to protect Trump, I don't see how his dithering changed the outcome.

They ain't wrong. Democrats left the working class behind in the 1990s. When was the last time they expanded the power of unions, curtailed the influence of capital, or did much of anything to address the very substantial systemic flaws currently plaguing our countries economy?
Pretty sure that's not a lawful arrangement, either - "We won't arrest you without probable cause if you don't say things we don't like" is not the deal.
