I tell my children and my students to follow a simple rule in their interactions with others, don't be an asshole. Why that can be so challenging for some people perplexes me.

Was going to ask the same thing. How assholes like that get those positions in the first place?

I was kind of hoping we'd have grown up and out of some of the idiocy, but they do love to wallow in ignorance and hate.

If it is any consolation, I cover this extensively in American History. We've started doing comparisons of WWII era propaganda campaigns to what is being vomited out of this administration as well.

Football. 15 years. Public high school and middle school; pop warner and youth flag. I hope to get back into it once our twins graduate high school. I don't teach where my kids go to school so I took their high school years off to be there for their games, meets and events.
