USA’s Up All Night with Rhonda Shear? Never heard of itAnyone remember shows like Friday Night Videos, Night Flight and USA Up All Night?
Yeah, I had Friday Night Videos before getting cable and MTV. I remember Night Flight had videos, too, and some other weird stuff.Friday Night Videos was a huge part of my life when I was around my son’s age (he’s 11). It was around that point in time when my parents stopped making me go to bed on weekend nights.
Music videos.Great topic. Used to watch SNL (current and reruns), Benny Hill Show, Paul Hogan Show. HBO had the Hitchhiker series that wasn’t age appropriate but I found it cool none the less.
What kind of videos did Friday Night Videos show? Movies or music videos?
Pretty much the same as MTV.What kind of music did they play on Friday Night Videos?
It was pretty much the hits of the moment. What kind of music did they play on Friday Night Videos?
That might have been Night Flight. They played music videos, too. They had more obscure ones. Also had some stand-up comics and weird videos.Think that is maybe what I watched but it didn’t seem to have a real format. Remember seeing Red Rider’s Lunatic Fringe video and Iron Maiden’s Flight of Icarus. But there were other more mainstream videos too. Seemed like it was a public access channel but that’s in retrospect. It was the 80’s
ETA: remember seeing Rush’s Subdivisions video![]()
In the early-90s, I went to a teen club somewhere in east Charlotte (I think on either Independence or Albemarle) called B.B Jamz.Dang, this thread is taking me back. Did anyone in Charlotte go to the teen clubs Club Metro and/or Glory Days? Don’t want to derail from this thread but don’t think a new thread is needed.
