it continues to be bonkers that this stuff is happening in real-time and has been for years but we've got people like HY2012 and the rest of that crew breathlessly calling us hysterical and assuring us that trump and co. won't do all of the things that they are literally doing.

THIS is a story that should deserve more attention -- Trump re-truths genuine LUNATICS over at Truth Social, resulting in the GOP Candidate and former POTUS posting insane stuff, yes, but also promoting posters who post a LOT of darker stuff that presumably Trump is seeing but deciding yeah, maybe THAT is too much for me to re-post.
This story focuses on Patriot4Life, who has shown up in a number of the Trump Truth Social re-posts I've shared over the last few years. TO BE CLEAR, Trump did NOT re-post the particular post shared in the article below, but he has re-posted a lot of other stuff by this account, giving it a lot more viewers than it would likely otherwise enjoy for its content.

Patriot4Life has repeatedly promoted calls for political killings, including recently retruthing an image calling for Vice President Kamala Harris and Gov. Tim Walz to be killed.
Trump has interacted with Patriot4Life ("@1776WeThePeople1776") in at least 70 instances on his social media platform. Those interactions include thanking the account for a pro-Trump message, retruthing the account’s call to jail lawmakers, retruthing what seemed to be an AI image of Trump praying with six fingers, promoting the account’s claim that “God has chosen” Trump, and retruthing the account’s attacks on Harris and Walz, including an image portraying Harris with a dung beetle body and a darkened face.
Trump also recently retruthed QAnon-themed posts from Patriot4Life. (Media Matters has documented how Trump has promoted QAnon material on Truth Social dozens of times.)
Any Trump follower that sees Trump’s repeat promotions and then visits that account would likely see exhortations for political violence against Trump’s opponents.

Just a vivid reminder, for those who needed it, that all this crap didn't start with Trump. He certainly has amplified and escalated it to a whole new level, but guys like Karl Rove and Newt Gingrich and Rush Limbaugh and Roger Ailes were doing very ugly, very divisive things long before Trump came along in 2016. In a very real sense Trump is simply the end product of a political monster that they've been building for a long, long time.

They were always going to do that. The GOP exists now simply to obstruct. They offer nothing other than trying to block what Democrats try to do. They've so thoroughly convinced their voters that Dems are satanic that that's all they have to do in order to get elected. They're lazy cowards with nothing to offer. No new ideas. Same old shit. The migrant caravans are right around the corner, I'm sure.
And it's an indictment (one of thousands) on pub voters that that's all they have to do to earn votes. Being a GOP politician is one of the easiest jobs I can think of at the moment.
