I hope the Warriors. I’m not a Warriors fan but pairing him with Steph would be fun to see. That’s the only hope I think Steph has of getting close to a championship again.
Warriors are out of the running. Dumped Kuminga to Atlanta along with Buddy Hield for Porzingis (who has become another AD). The move was prompted by the belief that Giannis is staying put for now.

Personally I’m just glad to be rid of Kuminga. Low IQ player on both ends who just never understood how to play in the system. And only played defense selectively. With his length and athleticism there’s zero reason for him not to be on the level defensively of Amen Thompson, Dyson Daniels, Jaden McDaniels, Camara… good riddance to him. For the record, Kerr wanted Franz Wagner and Lacob the owner pushed hard for Kuminga.

Dunleavy bungled that whole trade situation by not trading for Markkanen last summer when he had the chance, when Kuminga’s stock had peaked. Dunleavy has shown decent ability to find talent down the draft board, but is failing miserably at roster construction. Porzingis barely helps that, and on paper only.

So the hornets traded for Tyus Jones and then turned around and traded him back out and gained a $7 million trade exception - is this a good thing?

And also picked up two more draft picks. Their GM knows what he is doing. Hitting on every draft pick and making move to acquire future picks for trades.
I get why some are skeptical - it is the Hornets. But lots of teams in different sports were crap franchises until they got the right people in place. The hornets have only had their starting five healthy for 14 games this year and they are 13-1 in those games, and have one of the youngest rosters in the league.

Clippers continue unwinding - Zubac to the Pacers for Mathurin and Jackson.

Hornets on the way to winning in Houston tonight. Bulls lose. Will be tied for 10th and the play-in.

In their recent run, the Hornets have beaten the top five teams in the western conference by an average of 16 points.

Id love for the hornets to actually become a decent franchise - hopefully this is finally happening
Yep. Hornets 1.0 (1988-2002) was a solid franchise that was usually quite competitive. They were never great, but once they got past their first couple seasons as an expansion team, they were good more than they were bad. They made the playoffs 7 out of the 14 seasons they were in town, and 7 out of 10 seasons once they made the playoffs for the first time.

Bobcats/Hornets 2.0 has been incredibly futile. Three playoff appearances in the prior 21 seasons, with the first two appearances ending after being swept in the first round. Last playoff appearance was 10 years ago with a first round exit. At least they went 3-4 in that one.

I just can't get behind a team featuring Miles Bridges, Brandon Miller, and the dukie Kon

Hornets haven't had a roster that was fun to root for in a long time
