OKC/San Antonio will be a war for the next 5+ years. OKC lost this round but they barely had JDub. Both teams will have plenty of opportunities to add more firepower too.

Glad to see SA win this round. OKC’s current brand of playoff ball is too physical for my taste. They were letting Caruso assault Castle all 4th quarter and Spurs still held on.
 
A lot of his usual flopping but SGA stepped it up and hit a ton of big time shots. He didn’t have much help tonight

He can do more than he did tonight.

I didn't get to see the game, but I was going to comment that Chet's problem against Wemby is that Wemby is everything Chet is, but better.

But that doesn't explain only taking 2 shots, getting 4 FTs, and grabbing only 4 rebounds in 33 minutes. Wemby is better than Chet, but he ain't that much better.
 
Crazy how fast things can swing in this league. Defending champs and 24-1

Just not the same team without Jdub. Especially in a series like this

Still have SGA and a bunch of assets but I’m looking at Chet different

I get what you’re saying; but, Chet is simply an agile really tall guy.

Wemby is other worldly; if San Antonio can make Chet guard Wemby and Wemby guard Chet, Chet’s a non-factor.

In 15 years, Chet will be an afterthought…..oh, he’ll put up some stats and block enough shots to be named to several All-Defense teams; but, no one is building a team around Chet.

Wemby? He’ll be in the “freak-of-nature” Hall of Fame.

Wemby looks like he’s playing to win AND eat you. Chet looks like he plays because he’s tall and agile and it’s a good way to make $$$.

Wemby is better than Chet, no doubt.

But even against Wemby, there's no reason for Chet not to have 8-10 points and 6-8 rebounds in 33 minutes and pick up a couple of fouls on Wemby. He averaged 10.7 points and 7.1 rebounds in the series. He should be able to consistently do that versus Wemby.

Does Chet WANT TO play at an elite level in the NBA?

Based on his play to-date, I’d say no.

He’s playing because he’s freakishly tall and agile for his height. He’s playing for $$$$$.

He was 1st Team All-Defensive Team and 3rd Team All-NBA this year...he's played at an elite level.

But he definitely shrunk tonight in a way that shouldn't be a possibility if he's giving reasonable effort.

Chet is not in Wemby’s class, few are, but we saw even in this series he can do way more than he did tonight. He looked scared.
