Canvassed this morning… Tag you’re it.

Seriously though… If you have a better use of your time than doing your utmost to stave off the 50/50 coin flip shitshow that’s barreling down on us, you can use the rest of this thread to explain what you’ve got cooking that’s more important.

I will be doing some texting this evening.

Proselytizing one's beliefs without an invitation often has the reverse of the desired effect.

I'm going to update this...

Here in CB we had an internet outage from a cut fiber optic cable that meant I had no internet all (neither home nor 4g/LTE, seems the same line fed both) from Friday till late Saturday afternoon and while I knew it was likely to be bad in Western NC, when made this post I had just gotten in and had just gotten internet back. I had no idea how bad it was.

My OP was absolutely meant as a call to action, but it was badly timed given the devastation, and I wouldn't have posted it at that time if I had been up to date on the situation.

In 2018, I knocked doors for 80+ hours over 8 weeks (while working full time). I felt it made a difference in some small way, but both candidates lost - the US House candidate by 3%, and the state representative by fewer than 20 votes.

Definitely time well spent. Thanks for your efforts.

Yeah, the most underrated selling point to volunteering is that it unclenches the knot in the pit of your stomach a bit. It just feels good to do what you can. Control what you can control, and the part you can't control feels a bit better at least.
