Altmin works to understand XenForo

I have thoughts on this topic but no time to post them.

That's a lie. I have all the time in the world and no earthly idea what the fuck XenForo is.
 
I almost thought about messaging Ben and telling him there is so much I could help with, and so many things I could make better, given how much I customized this but he still might think I’m a jackass for starting a forum called ZZL.

And if you guys didn’t know, I am DannyArcher on that forum. Name came from a suggestion for anonymity from Sherrell.

I notice that in the Preference tab under Alerts, there’s nothing about “following” except to receive an alert when someone starts following you. If “following” were designed to alert you when someone you follow posts, it seems like there’d be preferences to control that which aren’t there.

You saved Ben a huge problem by getting rid of a problem child for him and reducing anger at IC. He should be bowing down to you.

1) I noticed Danny & wondered who he was as I didn’t recognize the name.

2) Do you have any idea what “following” actually does on here?
 
I HAVE FIGURED OUT A MAJOR THING THAT FOLLOW DOES!!!

When you follow someone, it pushes their activity to your News Feed.

Sherrell made a throwaway comment about how I should make my name the lead actor from my favorite movie from 2006.

XenForo is far and away better than whatever 247 was using but amusingly, following someone really doesn’t do much. There are a handful of workarounds but they aren’t very good. That said, you can build custom functions on this software (super ignore) and Shannon Terry could do so with as little an investment as a couple hundred dollars. Remains to be seen if he will do stuff like that. Which I would guess not.

Yes, the news feed is one of the “workarounds” but, it doesn’t seem to work that well on On3. It also shows too much and doesn’t give great context.
