It's funny how MAGA and most Pubs don't realize any political violence from anyone that's not them is in response to racism, bigotry and fascism. You know, bad things that they do. Actually, they probably do realize it but don't care and just use it to twist things to further their agenda of making the country for straight white Christian nationalists.

U.S. MAYORS SIGN BIPARTISAN OKLAHOMA CITY DECLARATION AGAINST POLITICAL VIOLENCE

Mayors from more than 40 cities across the United States will meet in Oklahoma City for the U.S. Conference of Mayors fall leadership meeting. The USCM will address issues pertaining to public safety, housing and signing a bipartisan declaration against political violence.

Stop saying us and them when we are all Americans.

Stop including everyone in the two groups, left vs right, when we know there is a spectrum in all groups.

Today's address to the military showed that there is no off-ramp. They literally see Americans as valid targets for violent oppression, Duterte style.

Right-wingers are by nature belligerent people eager to use violence to solve their problems. This is especially true of Southern right-wingers.

Tired of it. I am leaving the Southern Baptist convention and the republican party. I am still conservative on most issues, but this iteration of the republican party is completely unacceptable. I am ashamed it took me so damn long. I had allowed politics and religion be too big a part of my identity. The SBC has become a politcal arm of the Trump party. I love the people at my church, but I can't stay. Tough on my kids, they love it there, but I got to get us all out of this craziness.

It will be better. This sounds like my story 10-12 years ago.

🎁 —> A Prophet’s Diagnosis

I found this column touching and affirming.
“… In his final years, Nelson concentrated much of his ministry on the ruinous divisions that define modern life. In a landmark 2023 sermon titled “Peacemakers Needed,” he called on his flock to reject the “venomous contention that infects our civic dialogue” and to instead build “bridges of understanding” to those with whom we most profoundly disagree.

He pressed this point until the very end: In an op-ed published three weeks before his death, he wrote, “A century of experience has taught me this with certainty: anger never persuades, hostility never heals, and contention never leads to lasting solutions.”

Nelson’s diagnosis of our times wasn’t necessarily prophetic. He was seeing what we all see—a world riven by war, a country spiraling into hatred and violence. What made his prescription so powerful was how unfashionable it was. For all the talk lately of “lowering the temperature,” vanishingly few people seem interested in understanding their perceived enemies. Nelson’s example inspired me—and many others—to at least try….”

Folks, this all going to POTUS' Plan and Putin's Plan.

POTUS - only a matter of time before he tries to invoke the Insurrection Act to deal with a fake insurrection that he created.

- Big Billionaire Bank Robbery

- Assumption of All Power in the US. Never relinquish it. All hail Tangerine Palpatine!

That's the Trump 2.0 playbook.
