Does not make the She Believes roster
Is she hurt or ill?
Well, the OP attracted no attention But I do have some news.

Avery Patterson (a one time UNC star) had been a regular partcipant at Left Back (defense) for the USWNT. But in January she was called up to camp but had to leave with some unknown illness. There was some speculation that this illness led to her being left off the She Believes roster.

Meanwhile, Emily Fox, former UNC star, is back on the roster and a fixture at Right Back
AND, meanwhile, Crystal Dunn - yet another UNC star - a fixture at left back across from Fox, has announced her retirement.

but the latest news is that another defensive player (forget her name) has left the national team camp with a calf injury. And Patterson has been called up to take her place.

It still remains a bit of a mystery,. If Patterson was not fit enough for the camp when the roster was put together, why is she fit enough now? Meanwhile, she has a bit more USWNT experience than the woman she has replaced, and I thought she was better.

I hope it’s not Girma that left camp, she’s the anchor. I haven’t paid much attention to the defensive rotations but damn does Hayes have a lot of attacking talent to work with. Have been super impressed by Emma Sears.

ETA: [never mind I’m wrong all over the place]

Patterson replaced Kate Wiesner. I would bet that KW was one of the final picks on the squad, so it is not clear that the transition is a net loss.
Emily Samms replaced Jordyn Bugg on the back line. Again, a case could be made that Samms is better, if healthy.

I'd guess that the defensive squad would be
Girma and Sonnett at Center Back, with Samms first sub
Fox and Reale as defensive wings, with Patterson major sub? and G Thompson
and Rudd and Wesley
