Barack Obama says aliens are real

It's such a nothing question that I only read your post. Did he say there was evidence or was he just playing the odds which are unbelievably in his favor. In the observed universe there is literally a trillion or two stars for every person on earth. To think there's not alien life somewhere is insane.

Sounded to me like there is evidence of them. He said they aren't being kept at Area 51 or anything like that.

I'm pretty sure it started as a joke and then he remembered, "oh, wait, some people believe in this." He might also have been subtly referring to the current president.

The fact that he said that his first question was "where are the aliens" makes it obvious that he was kidding. It wasn't a very good delivery, though. Obama was never a good jokester in public. He's too conscious of all the various consequences and meanings that he might inadvertently communicate that he just botches the punch line. Been that way for a while.

His "delivery" was fine and he did not "botch" a thing. A superb interview that got funny at about 47 minutes in.
