Beastie Boys

I went to Atlanta with some 2nd battalion knuckleheads in Spring sometime in 1985 because they were opening for Madonna. Loved it and we actually stayed around for a bit of her show because there was so much talent. Seems like another life ago.

Saw them live a couple of times. The first time they were opening for Madonna and got booed pretty hard.

One of the greats of all musical genres. Among their other albums, I still have Paul's Boutique on (red) cassette. Wore the shit outta that one! I think Hello Nasty (the one with Intergalactic on it) was the first CD of theirs I bought back in '97. What can I say, I had a car with a cassette player in it until 2001.

I saw the Beastie boys in 1987. Part of a triple bill. Beastie boys opened, followed by Public Enemy, and the headliner was Run DMC (humble brag)
I saw them in Norfolk in 1987.

I had floor seats and remember JR Reid walking from the back of the floor section to the front of the stage with everyone clearing the way for him. This was peak JR Reid time.

I've heard Mike D and Ad Rock on Rick Rubin's podcast talking about that tour. He was their DJ for the first part of it.

He's the one who convinced them to go heel on that tour.
