Ben Sasse scammed University of Florida?

Very few flagship State Univs have done more than Florida to "raise their lot" the last 30 years . It is really sad Desantis and his clowns instigatied all this Very sad
If we had a real newspaper in Rawlee they would look into "consultants Fees " in NC State Govt . It is I assure you in the multiples of 100 million. Some are good Some ain't

To be fair, UF was among the top state schools in the US when I went there in the early 90s.

Between Shands hospital/med school, top-notch b-school and j-school, law school, and ag/vet school, UF has always been pretty highly ranked. They’ve been an AAU member for a few decades.

FSU, on the other hand, has really upped its game over the last few decades…and they’re now likely to be admitted to the AAU in the next round.

That said, DeSantis has basically killed any prestige both universities had accumulated—and destroyed one of the best state-sponsored liberal arts schools (New School) as well.
 
I’ll have to go back and dig up the stories but reportedly there is also some very ugly Republican on Republican political tussling going on in the background here … sort of reminiscent of the Margaret Spelling saga in the UNC system.
 
You mean to tell me that a Republican grifted the fuck out of something or someone? This is my utterly shocked face!

Maybe so, but they twisted the knife a little when they reported the value of the one guy's house. What does that really matter?

(And, by the way, a $750k home in DC or Gainesville ain't exactly going to be a palace)

Median house price in Gainesville is $300-325K. You’ll get significantly more house in Gainesville; but, you’ll be in Gainesville.
 
At this point, finding a Republican who isn’t a scam artist would be like finding a unicorn riding the back of the Lochness monster under a rainbow that leads to a pot of gold while lightning strikes the same place twice.
