So why didn't joe pardon him for those acts specifically, like most pardons. Why did he have to write a Nixon type blanket pardon going back to 2014? Of course we know why. And all this time, you guys thought it was trump who was the threat

Hunter needed a pardon for ALL wrongdoing which was revealed by the "fake/Russian disinformation" laptop.

Next up will be pardons for his other family members (hereinafter the "Crime Family"), including: Dr. Jill, sister Valerie, brother "Big Jim," his other brother "Little Frankie," Hallie Biden, granddaughter Natalie Biden, Hunter's ex Kathleen Buhle, Hunter's current wife Melissa Cohen and daughter Ashley,

What's the over/under on the number of pardons Biden hands out to his family by January 20th?

"threat to confidence in our justice system." I see that as a direct threat to democracy.
Eh. Maybe. I don't see anything about confidence in our justice system that's uniquely tied to the democratic nature of our government, but if you're just using "democracy" as a proxy for "our nation," I'll give you the point.

Yeah, certain phrases are used for different reasons. Your go-to phrase is used in lieu of actual evidence, for example.
Was just using the board standard all through the 2016 election and his first term. Can't believe the goal posts would have moved would they?

I agree that's what Trump would have done. I, for one, would just have liked to be able to complain about it without knowing my guy did the same thing. But I agree that's not important in the big scheme of things.
But our guy did it for minor charges for his son. Trump is going to do it for serious charges for his militia. They aren't remotely comparable. Well, I suppose they are remotely comparable, but not really comparable.

This is why I have my doubts that you are a trained attorney. If you are, you're a disgrace.

The blanket nature of the pardon is fully explained by the stated desire of Congressional Republicans, the president-elect and the nominee for FBI director to continue to harass Hunter Biden with endless investigations. It is my contention that nobody trained in law would not understand this. I think you're a paralegal and you're pretending to be your boss.

I'm just referring to the use of a blanket pardon. I get why Biden took that approach, and I 100% agree Trump will use it for massively worse purposes. I just don't like the concept in general, and it's one small part of what has me annoyed about this whole situation.

I don’t know what you are referring to, but we know for a fact that Trump did the things that caused him to be impeached twice. We know for a fact that he obstructed the investigation into his ties with Russia at least 10 times. We know Trump committed dozens of felonies. We know Trump stole countless very highly secretive documents and refused to give them back. We know Trump helped plan to overthrow democracy through a slate of false electors.
We don’t know anything about Biden doing something illegal.

You have this strange obsession as to whether I'm really an attorney. You think a difference of a political opinion (I think it was a broad pardon to cover wrongdoing going back to 2014/you think it was to avoid Congressional harassment) dictates whether I'm an attorney or not.

Why in the world would I fake being an attorney? It's not like it's something particularly special, cool or interesting. Why not a racecar driver, firefighter or airline pilot?

If and when that happens the left will justify it by saying the evil doj is going to be persecuting his family so its just to prevent that. Which of course is absolute bullshit hypocrisy given biden's weaponization of the doj. They are great at doing exactly what they accuse others of doing. Why is biden claiming his own doj is weaponized against poor hunter? I mean, he's a good boy right? You just have to laugh at this board though. They are either flaming hypocrites or most have dementia because they have completely ignored or forgotten the criteria they used to judge trump during the first campaign and during his first term.

His entire self worth and identity is tied up in it.

I'm guessing dementia.

I was going at it from the pov of confidence in justice system = confidence in the laws to ensure free and fair elections = democracy

You think a difference of a political opinion
This is not a difference of political opinion. You said that he needed the broad pardon to cover ALL wrongdoing from the laptop. That is objectively false. Why would he "need" a pardon when the shit on the laptop is beyond the limitations period? When it has been combed over by investigators who found nothing but what was charged?

If you do not understand these basic things, then it really doesn't matter if you have a bar admission or not. Personally, I think you're faking it so that you can brag about knowing Ray whats-his-name. But you're right; your profession doesn't matter. Your mendacity does.

It’s possible. It killed my mother.
Also, fuck you.
Sorry to hear your mother suffered from dementia. Sincerely hope you don't follow the same path. But thank you for the "fuck you". It means you care and we seem to be developing a bond.

And I appreciate the dementia comment from you. Like your continued use of “we all know why,” it’s a tacit admission that you don’t really have any substantive arguments on the matter.

No, a realization that I'm discussing something with someone who isn't acting in good faith so no use. Was happy to see that it looks like the investigations into hunter and the biden criminal organization will continue despite the pardon. I think the special counsel said he would like to continue with it despite not being able to sentence him. As long as the truth comes out I will be satisfied. Hope you will be to so that words like "we all know why" won't be needed any more.

Really? You want to keep spending taxpayer dollars to investigate a nonpolitician who can't be charged with a crime regardless of what the investigation turns up? That surprises me.

If the executive cannot specify the crimes, it raises serious doubt that they know the full extent of potential crimes. That ought to be a prerequisite for a pardon.
