Where the fuck were you when all this Trump shit was happening? Sure maybe you will throw out the odd "I think Trump is a criminal too" here and there, but friggin Hunter Biden gets away with some shit and you lose your mind for days on end. FOH asshole.I could have written almost the same exact paragraph during the trump first election and term. I mean you guys were frothing and rabid about russia, russia, russia. Can't wait until he is in jail was the theme. Any of that sound familiar at all? You don't see any similarities?
How do you figure? If this is the only one, according to your link it would represent a big improvement. This aligns with Tapper's report on CNN regarding Biden bypassing the normal process for pardons.
US politics is going to shit. The concept of "norms" is in a downward spiral.
Hunter Biden Likely Wouldn’t Qualify for a Pardon Recommendation Under Justice Dept. Criteria
The Office of the Pardon Attorney mostly recommends full pardons for people who have already served their sentences. Hunter Biden has not been sentenced.
Hunter Biden likely would not have qualified for a pardon recommendation under the criteria used by the Justice Department’s Office of the Pardon Attorney, which is tasked with identifying and vetting worthy clemency recipients. The office mostly recommends full pardons for people who have already served their sentences.
Hunter Biden has not been sentenced, let alone served his sentence.
Presidents have unchecked authority to grant clemency to anyone they choose, regardless of the pardon attorney’s recommendations.
During his first term in office, President-elect Donald J. Trump routinely granted clemency to people who had not been recommended by the pardon attorney, including to some who had been previously rejected by the office and others who had yet to be sentenced.

We know that Republicans under Trump don't care about norms. It seems like Dems are now ignoring norms as a response to Trump or as a pre-emptive move because of Trump. How do you figure? If this is the only one, according to your link it would represent a big improvement.
Seriously, can you blame them? Have you seen Trump's appointments - people who have openly discussed using the power of the government to go after his critics and opponents? How have the Democrats fared so far as the party of "norms" - have voters rewarded them for being the party of "norms" or clearly indicated that they no longer give a shit about such things? Voters literally just elected, for the first time in American history, a man who has 34 felony convictions and who just four years ago instigated a clear violent insurrection attempt to prevent his opponent from taking office. And that's just for starters. And yet he just won the election. What do the Democrats have to gain by being the party of "norms" if the voters don't seem to care?We know that Republicans under Trump don't care about norms. Well, if the concern is how Trump and his cabinet intends to utilize the FBI/DoJ, then do a blanket pardons for future convictions, but keep your word regarding what Hunter has been convicted for.Seriously, can you blame them? And yet again, I'll say that this pardon pales in comparison to all of the shit that Trump pulled in his first term and will no doubt do in his second. The outrage over this pardon is the height of hypocrisy, both by Trump Republicans and all of the news media.
Focusing on the other side is SOP in politics today.Maybe I'm missing something. Is it the conclusion now that Trump is better then Biden? Nope.
FACT: MAGA's can't excuse Trump. So they focus when they can on making the case that the other side is just as bad. And that makes their support ok.
I think you need to be a little more specific - Biden is ignoring a norm, and getting a lot of flack from other Dems.We know that Republicans under Trump don't care about norms. It seems like Dems are now ignoring norms as a response to Trump or as a pre-emptive move because of Trump.
Not 100% sure I follow you with all of that business... but I'm good with Biden pardoning his son. IMHO he should have been saying all along that a pardon for his son may come to pass, or at the very least that a pardon is not off the table. But at the end of the day, he did the right thing and certainly nothing you or I wouldn't have done.... Pardon your son. He's paid his debt to society enough for what he was accused of doing, and then some. The President's pardon power may turn out to be the biggest problem and manifest itself in ways we haven't thought of. Of course, Trump will be shopping for bad people to do his bidding and handing out pardons to them. "Russia if you are listening" thing.
And, it could work the other way. Bad people shopping Trump. Just assassinate a Trump enemy and expect all your crimes to be pardoned. Trump would claim there's no evidence I have ever talked to this murderer but he's being treated so badly that I just have to pardon him. A signal pardon if you will.
Expect Trump to push the pardon power really quick to see if the public will bother to protest. And I bet his buddy Putin will even suggest this.
The double standard is real, and we've seen it in practice throughout the presidential campaign and now with this pardon. Trumpers completely shatter norms and their fans and the news media (virtually all of it now) shrugs. Democrats do something much lower on the scale, and it is one of the most outrageous and/or ghastly things ever done. Watching the reaction to this pardon would be almost comical if we all didn't know what was coming down the pike next month. It will make what Biden just did seem utterly trivial by comparison, and we all know it.You're just being ridiculous.
Again, you must be one of these people that absolutely never changes their mind.Well, if the concern is how Trump and his cabinet intends to utilize the FBI/DoJ, then do a blanket pardons for future convictions, but keep your word regarding what Hunter has been convicted for.
LOL. My original thread and opening post has been merged with this Biden pardon. When I posted that, It was strictly about what Trump was going to do with the power. My thread certainly was not about anything Biden would do. Hadn't crossed my mind. Not 100% sure I follow you with all of that business... but I'm good with Biden pardoning his son. Gotcha! That is funny... I had no idea of the merge. It totally makes sense now. I wanted to speak to the pardon, not some of the other stuff much later on the threadLOL. Of course. At some point we all change our minds. If I change my mind on grounding my son, literally nobody is going to care except for me and my son.Again, you must be one of these people that absolutely never changes their mind.
It's that simple he changed his mind. We all do it. For some it's a great point in life.
Then why does it matter that Biden changed his mind?Of course. At some point we all change our minds. If I change my mind on grounding my son, literally nobody is going to care except for me and my son.

Is that ALL you have? Russia? I'll give you a little background on me. I'm a 24-year retired Navy Sailor. I've held a TS/SCI clearance for almost 20 of those years. I've done some of the coolest shit that I can never talk about. If I had knowingly taken sensitive, HIGHLY classified information and then defied a lawful subpoena to return it, I'd already be in Leavenworth making little rocks out of big rocks. The ONLY reason he wasn't tried was that a judge HE nominated to the bench bought the stupid argument that the special counsel was illegally appointed. If that's true, Hunter's case should also be dismissed for the same reason. Your orange savior has done more and been convicted of more crap than you can ever hope to pin on Biden. I'm a big boy, and I do not doubt that Russia influenced the electorate. I don't think it rose to the level of collusion, but they wanted Trump to win.I could have written almost the same exact paragraph during the trump first election and term.
