The Midshipmen are one of very few schools with mascots whose moniker does not end in the letter ‘S.’ They also shoot 50.5% from the floor and average 78 ppg. They are smallish but Aiden Kehoe is a 6-11 center averaging 12.3ppg and shooting 73% from the floor (but 12% from the line). Leading scorer (15.5) Jimwu Kim is a three year starter and a poli sci major. Five Middies are Tar Heels but none play significant minutes ( 2025-26 Men's Basketball Roster - Naval Academy Athletics ). None of these guys came out of the portal (but maybe the porthole?). Last Friday night they defeated Washington of Maryland by a score of 97-64 in front of a home crowd of 884. There is nothing remarkable about this squad. Somehow Navy is permitted to field a team of 25 players.
Frontcourt: Veesaar and High are fired up and James Brown is very smart. Caleb Wilson is excited and above the fold.
Wings: Bogavac is Einsteinian while Jonathan Powell is dead calm and good to go. Jarin Stevenson has the best rhythms on the team.
Guards: Kyan Evans is brilliant and all-around excellent. Derek Dixon is down. Jaydon Young is the athlete.
Overall: Navy holds a 14-6 all-time lead versus Carolina. They first played 105 years ago in Annapolis. Navy won, 37-24. Tonight there will be payback. Watch for a fast start from #8 and #15 on good passing from Evans and Bogavac. Powell should continue his solid play off of the bench. Assists and Solid Floor Play from #1. Las Vegas sez Carolina by 25. Ritmos say more like 35.
