A rough January melded into a February of winning 7 of the last 9 & 4 victories in a row on the road. Unfortunately, exactly one month ago dook earned a 20 point triumph in the Dean E. Smith Center. Carolina took an early smack in the face in that one and dook never looked back. Since then Carolina has often looked good and has gutted out some solid wins. dook has continued on its own path, centered on the ego-trip of a man who set-up his own parade. This game is set for 6:00 pm rather than the more traditional last game of the season, nationally-watched, 8:00 pm contest. “If dook had been any better the last dozen years, we might still be the 8:00 game. But why would ESPN want to feature a team that hasn’t won a regular season conference championship since 2010 or been to the Final Four since 2015? Can’t say that I blame them, I guess.” ( A tip of the hat to my friend Wayne for the perspective)
Friends of the Biorhythms know that we hold no love nor respect for the man honored by many today. We have our reasons but ultimately we don’t like what we see in him: The foul-mouth, the embrace of the most mercenary strategies and tactics, his politics, and it goes on and on and on. Suffice it to say that this man is the Opposite of Dean Smith in Every Way.

I hope the game will be intense. I dream of a just outcome as I do with everything. Now on to the biorhythms.

Frontcourt: Manek has it going on…strong and smart and Armando Bacot joins him. Dontrez Styles shows little rhythmically.

Wings: Leaky Black has much fire, Walton has something to add, and Puff Johnson is heart and soul.

Guards: An Einsteinian Love joins a steady R.J. Davis in the backcourt. Dunn is a smart young man.

Overall: dook players Roach (#2), Griffin (#21), and Keels (#1) have good all around marks and ought to be trouble, especially the latter pair of tall, long wings. Wendell Moore of Charlotte (#0) is a smart guy and giant Mark Williams (#15) is powerful but off otherwise (head fakes Mr. Bacot, head fakes). Marquette transfer Theo John (#12) plays “rough” and is clever today. The super-hyped Banchero (#5) is depleted biorhythmically. Rat is subpar in the wisdom category.

Carolina brings a strong frontcourt pair. Both Manek and Bacot awoke this morning with two fouls already assessed to their names so they must play wisely. Both show that they are capable. Joel Berry was quoted of the Cameron Toolbox, “It’s kind of like going back to play in a high school with the fans right there on the court doing the twinkle fingers of whatever.” It will be a rabid environment and the dook students will dutifully follow their cheer sheets throughout. Every former rat player has been invited to attend so we’ll be treated to those faces as cameras pan the “audience.” Enmity is the word for the day as the Laettners, Hurleys, Wojos, Sulaimons (well maybe not him), Grayson Allens, Duhons, and Dennards will return to their alma maters. (I’m sorry but I can’t really list many recent players – their 4 months in durham didn’t really lend much to remembering their names).

The Guards will bear a heavy burden and look biorhythmically up to the task…a smart Love and a solid all-around Davis can challenge the dookish burger boys though they are smaller. Puff Johnson has a great deal of motivation and he will need it – his contribution is much needed and it is exactly the fire that he brings to the court that the Tar Heels absolutely must have today. Leaky Black joins Johnson in the passion & enthusiasm. Both lead by doing and today that is requisite.

Carolina has nothing to lose today – they should play loose and if smacked should immediately smack back. Once some 61 years ago the 5-8 Carolina point guard Larry Brown was thuggishly fouled hard by 6-6 dookie Art Heyman in a game in the durham toolbox and his immediate response was to reach up and slug the big man across the chin. You can watch that right here: That’s what the Tar Heels have to do today – stand taller than normal and respond to the rat’s bobby knight-spawned pushing, shoving, tripping, holding, and flopping with immediate retaliation. Ruining the ego-trip would, of course, be a public service but in the end to suffer no slights, to stand up straight and tall, and to identify with the Family and the Carolina Way will suffice. Las Vegas has the dookie parade winning by 12. That might be the case. The biorhythms point to possibilities for a win but can also foresee a fall. We’re not Las Vegas but we do like brains and fire in key places. Let’s go Heels.
