Canada Catch-All | Trump 51st State “plan”

So, if I understand the history here, the tariffs against Canada started because Trump thought we needed to shore up the border because fentanyl was pouring across the border at the rate of about 50 pounds per year. Now Trump is escalating the tariff war because (1) Canada is retaliating with tariffs, and (2) Canada is disinclined to become the 51st state. So all this because of a few pounds of fentanyl (who cares, really), and much more importantly, Trump’s toddler ego.

Trump never believed the fentanyl thing. it's just an excuse so he can act without Congress. Giant abusive loophole in our laws.

This is simply batshit crazy, and if any other politician had said or tweeted this there would be a national uproar. If Biden had said this there would not only be almost universal condemnation, many people in both parties would bluntly say that he was indeed senile and needed to be removed from office immediately. But most Trumpers will defend this shit to the bitter end, albeit on this board even most of his defenders have given up and fled, at least for the time being. And this is not him being "entertaining" or "playing the long game" or whatever the hell his admirers think he's doing when he says stuff like this. He is simply crazy, plain and simple, and right now there is virtually nothing that can stop him from doing whatever he wants.

Which would be predictable if we were in March 2027. But he did all this in 45 DAYS!!!
