There is probably a button in your car with this symbol.

In my car, pushing that button turns it off until I change the setting. in other cars it only turns it off until the next time you start the car. But if you search YouTube for "start/stop engine" and your car model, there is probably a video showing you how to permanently disable the feature.

Still driving (fingers crossed) my 2008 Toyota Corolla Stick with roll-up windows, manual lock, and key ignition. I drive my wife's more modern car often but I'll take mine over her'n any day.

My car insists on 93 grade gas, and the start/stop button must be pushed off each time. I really think it wears out the starter.

I drive a hybrid and if my car didn't do what is described, then it really wouldn't be a hybrid. I have had absolutely ZERO problems with my car switching from gas to electric as conditions, speed, and slope of the road warrants.
Same here.

It's a much better starter than one that only starts the car. Plus the primary failure point of a starter isn't the motor, it's the bendix.
