The scion and sometimes antagonist of two figures in Republican politics has re-emerged as an independent aiming to sway her fellow Gen-Z voters.

It's a stupid puff piece for a young lady who doesn't deserve one, but Claudia's sexuality probably makes both of her parents unhappy and that's a-OK with me. Kellyanne in particular likely cannot deal with it at all. Probably not George either, though he's less of a head case.

OTOH, if anyone says they are queer to be fashionable or cool, Claudia Conway would be the one.

I think it is only in that way that the NYT likes to do some amount of "human interest" stories as part of their political coverage and that fits that bill. Claudia Conway also lives in Manhattan and the NYT loves a certain amount of stories where they can pretend NYC is the center of the entire universe. And it allows the NYT to focus on Republicans/conservatives and their political journeys.

It's not an important story in any actual terms, but it has a lot of the characteristics that the NYT likes for the more TMZ side of its political operations.

It's not. It just gives me schadenfreude. If anyone "deserves" to have a queer daughter, it's Kellyanne Conway. And by that, of course, I mean that she would see that as a curse.

Basically, this is the Manhattan lawyer version of laughing when creepy-sounding ministers turn out actually to be creepy.
