Presumably, IRS funding will be targeted, but will be interesting to see how the House navigates the razor thin majority. Everyone seems to have a pet project they want to keep funding. The low-hanging fruit approach would mean cutting taxes and increasing ICE and military funding without much spending reduction.

This is often thrown out as a fact, without important context. People who break their hip are often already managing complex medical issues. The subsequent injury greatly exacerbates the baseline deconditioning, increases risk of blood clot, subsequent falls, pneumonia, surgical infection, metabolic imbalances, etc. There are lots of elderly folks that recover “fine” from these injuries, and they’re almost universally the ones who were already active and able. Pelosi is indeed at elevated risks due to her age, but her apparent baseline suggests she’ll recover ok.
