My seventh grade band teacher was a hippie, 3 dog night was his fav band, their song joy to the world was hummed or whistled constantly. He tried to tell the story behind their name once a month.

The woman who sparked the 1974 Kanawha County Textbook Controversy has died. 82-year-old Alice Whitehurst Moore passed away at her home in Tennessee over the weekend.
