You can usually get chicken livers for less than $2/lb. at Piggly Wiggly or Food Lion. Highly nutritious and, to me anyway, delicious. That last is obviously a minority opinion, which is fine by me. Less demand keeps the price down. I love me a good pâté...
You can keep those all to yourself lol. You go to the one on Ward Blvd?

Before the election egg prices were a constant complaint. Every right wing influencer in the world was posting receipts showing eggs (and other groceries) being supposedly insane prices. Shockingly, those complaints largely disappeared the second Trump won.
Well that explains that. I don't spend any time following right wing influencers. Kinda surprised so many here do..

OK well it was also a major talking point of the Trump campaign, and specifically JD Vance:

I mean if you want to pretend like the Trump campaign and its surrogates didn't make grocery prices a major issue in the campaign, then I guess be my guest. Perhaps you also have forgotten that at one point most Republicans were of the opinion that the age of the presidential candidate mattered? You seem to have a short memory.

I fully agree that the same standard should be applied to Trump. Whether it actually will be is a whole separate question.
Why not take the high road since your party is the self proclaimed more moral party instead of the stupid blame game that gets zero accomplished?

Well apparently the blame game is what wins you elections, regardless of whether it accomplishes anything. So I guess until the American electorate gains any sort of functional understanding of how our government works and what presidents can and can't control, "taking the high road" is a losing bet.

Also calling the Dems the "self proclaimed more moral party" is pretty hilarious stuff. As if we don't get it shouted into our faces every 10 seconds that Dems are the party of godless commie cross-dressing, child-grooming baby killers.

Guilty as charged re: my memory of the campaign. I tuned the whole thing out months before the election, other than the few commercials I couldn't dodge.
Which is why my original question asked about, you know, real people complaining about egg prices. I acknowledge that people complained about groceries in general, but eggs??

What exactly do you want me to do here? Screenshot hundreds of social media posts talking about eggs?

I'm sorry, but this is not a believable reply. Eggs have been such a topic of discussion and agita that it strains credulity for someone to reside on planet earth and not have heard the complaints for the last 2 years about them.

“… MARGARET BRENNAN: You campaigned on lowering prices for consumers. We've seen all of these executive orders. Which one lowers prices?

VICE PRESIDENT VANCE: Well, first of all, we have done a lot, and there have been a number of executive orders that have caused, already, jobs to start coming back into our country, which is a core part of lowering prices. More capital investment, more job creation in our economy, is one of the things that's going to drive down prices for all consumers, but also raise wages so that people can afford to buy the things that they need. If you look at our slate of executive orders--

MARGARET BRENNAN: So, grocery prices aren't going to come down?

VICE PRESIDENT VANCE: No, Margaret, prices are going to come down, but it's going to take a little bit of time, right?

The president has been president for all of five days. I think that in those five days, he's accomplished more than Joe Biden did in four years. It's been an incredible breakneck pace of activity. We're going to work with Congress. We're of course going to have more executive orders, and we're going to try- the way that you- you lower prices is that you encourage more capital investment into our country, and you asked specifically what executive order is going to help lower prices.
I’m trying to understand economics as taught by Professor Vance.
  • Bringing production from lower cost areas (Asia, Latin America) to higher cost ones (United States) will help lower prices
  • Increasing the number of jobs in the United States will help lower prices
  • Increasing wages/salaries will help lower prices
It seems so simple.

This post exemplifies one core pillar of the "downfall".

Compared to other comment sections, this one in particular is full of self righteous dumb dudes....making the same arguments over and over.

You'd think a person like you would get tired of the same ol'...

But no, here you are, again.

it's sad and hilarious

Don't @ me.
