This is very cool.

Notice how they protect and surround the youngest elephant, who is moved to the middle.

RFK, Jr. to our children who could catch the measles or other another dangerous communicable disease:

"Vaccines for prevention? Take your vitamins and good luck!"

This is very cool.

Not that it is even a meaningful point, but this looks to be the San Diego Wild Animal Park on Highway 78 (about an hour from the zoo). The San Diego Zoo bought the animal park about a decade ago or so and now operates it as a separate park.

For history buffs, the animal park is right near the San Pasqual Battlefield, where General Kearny squared off with the Californios for several days in one of the early battles of the Mexican-American War

It is also right near the site of a fire that broke out in 2007 and joined other fires contributing to one of the biggest fires in CA history. They had to evacuate animals from the park. Imagine trying to do that with a roaring fire approaching. Though no animals were lost and I think it ended up just missing the park.

It burned ~50 miles across the county nearly all the way to the coast, over the course of a day or two.

Gnarly. Fires and quakes, just a part of life in CA.
