I'm opposed to what Texas did. FULL STOP. But, and you knew there was going to be a "but," if Texas was at all sympathetic to providing help, aid, and nutrition to children after they were born, then its "concern" for unborn children would be a tad less hypocritical. Same concerns for the distinction between men beating their wives and sacredness of a man's place as the head of the family. Texas needs to stop its practices of (a) supervising pregnancies until birth and then telling the mother and child, "You're on your own now, Good Luck!" and (b) implicitely condoning the right of a husband to smack his wife around when he thinks she is out of line.
