Great idea for a guy that will probably run for president in 2028. He's going to start a podcast where he puts his political beliefs on the line against guests who may not share his opinion. What a refreshing idea for a politician. Most wouldn't attempt this kind of program if their life depended on it. Newsom is the one guy that could pull it off, though. He's got that Buttigieg charm and common sense, and is great in a debate. I've seen him take apart guys like Hannity and DeSantis.

Why is starting a podcast incompatible with rebuilding SoCal?

For the same reason the SoCal fires were Karen Bass’s fault because she was out of the country when the Palisades fire started. Republicans hold Democratic politicians accountable for everything while holding themselves accountable for nothing.

Podcasts are a great way to present your thoughts to the public without any slant placed on it by major media. AOC is doing a great job with this on TikTok, go directly to the people, bypass those who want to spin your message for their gain.

I am no Newsom stan but he is primarily unpopular with Republicans still upset about lockdowns (and every other California ill they believe he personifies, like homelessness and shoplifiting). The 2021 recall effort was wildly unsuccessful despite huge Republican donor backing.

It was a recall election. Only the 5th in US history for a governor. The people wanted him gone. No democrats got in the race and because the state is corrupt he won a recall election lol. You actually thought he was well liked because he come out on top in a recall election??

Gray Davis was recalled and Schwarzenegger won in 2003. Californians love recalls. Newsom won 2:1. If he were unpopular, he would have met the same fate as Davis.
