As chairman, Trump would have wide authority over the new organization, with the power to appoint and remove member states, as well as a veto over its decisions. The charter specifies that the board’s decisions will be “made by a majority of the member states present and voting, subject to the approval of the chairman, who may also cast a vote in his capacity as chairman in the event of a tie.”

It also reserves for the chairman the “exclusive authority” to create other entities to carry out the board’s mission.“

If I understand the reporting correctly, Trump is personally appointed chairman (it is not a seat of the POTUS).

A total disgrace to our nation. I’m not very emotional over affairs of state whatever but damn this is heartbreaking. Long held alliances and trust built between countries that won WW2 and our Trump is just shitting all over it.

It's not easy to be the firefighter when the arsonist is still running around the room with a flamethrower.

From the Euro perspective --

1. They do want some semblance of detente in Gaza to stick, and they know Bibi only listens to Trump.
2. They need oil and gas from somewhere.
3. They need access to US consumers and producers, for now at least.

The last one can change, though, and if the Pubs don't get the balls to fix the Trump Problem soon, the damage to the US will be irreparable.
