As Lawmaker Claims Trump’s Shooting Was Inside Job, G.O.P. Indulges Him

Representative Eli Crane, a first-term Arizona Republican, has emerged as the chief right-wing voice pushing conspiracy theories about the Trump assassination attempts.

“He posits that there is a mole within Donald J. Trump’s Secret Service detail and warns that the former president should bolster his private security to “watch the watchers.”

He says he is skeptical that the F.B.I. will “get to the bottom” of the first attempted assassination against Mr. Trump — and even if they do, he declares, “I don’t believe that they would give us the truth.”

He has repeatedly raised the possibility that the shooter who tried to assassinate Mr. Trump in July at an open-air rally in Butler, Pa., did not act alone, and that the gunman who was arrested last month in what the F.B.I. described as a second assassination attempt at his Florida golf course was an “asset” of a foreign adversary who was being “handled.”

Representative Eli Crane, a first-term Republican from Arizona, has been everywhere that will have him, promoting conspiracy theories about the assassination attempts against Mr. Trump, despite all evidence that such theories are false. And far from sidelining or attempting to silence him, Republican leaders have given him a prominent platform to air his outlandish claims at the highest levels, lending credence to the conspiracy theories spread by him and others on the far right. …”

Whether Republicans are being convinced by their influencer partners that electoral fraud is easy, they are clearly convinced that Dems do it all the time, so the GOP is justified, nay commanded by provenance, to do the same to overcome the purported rash of Dem cheating.

Saw some guy in Harris Teeter today wearing a hat that had something about the 2nd Amendment on it and a shirt that had something about I'm white, straight, Christian, 2nd Amendment, blah, blah, blah. I just rolled my eyes at him when I walked by. These idiots don't get that the majority of the country is the same, but they still feel persecuted. At least people like that are telling us straight out they are a racist and bigot so we can avoid them.
They're constantly being told they're a victim by their media of choice. This is their natural reaction.

Tweet from Maye Musk...

I had never heard or seen anything at all about Elon's mom until today. Turns out she's an awful person too. Can't say I'm surprised.

In re David Frum's post on GOP voter fraud: One of the examples of voter fraud was a North Carolina Republican. That very same Republican, The Reverend Mark Harris, is currently on the ballot in November to represent me in the United States Congress in a district Gerrymandered by the NCGA specifically to disenfranchise people people like me.

The "Reverend" Mark Harris completely and totally skated on any and all consequences of his blatant voter fraud. How blatant was the fraud? So blatant that Harris' own son warned him not to do it. Not only did "Reverend" Harris completely disregard his son's warnings, but actively worked to suppress his son's written warnings and attempted to prevent his son from even testifying at the election board hearing.

And the consequences of such willful behavior, . . ., the delivery, courtesy of the NCGA, of a hand-crafted district Gerrymandered to ensure not only that only an extreme right-wing Republican would emerge from the primary, but said right-wing Republican would also emerge victorious from the general election.

This is where we live. This is the unavoidable consequence of the minority rule that Republicans are seeking to make the universal law of the land.

When I started the original version of this thread over on IC several years ago, most of the posts were about random citizens spouting conspiracy theories and concerns about very local elections of such people. In just a few years, almost the entire GOP is infected, top down, with the far right conspiracy mind worms.

This photo is creepy AF.

In re: the photo. Elon and St. Donald.of Mar-a-Lago are allegedly the same height, 6'2". How does the above photo square with this photo?
ETA: Did Trump's handlers forget to put the lifts in his shoes that day?

They’re doing it because they’re spineless fucks who are afraid of offending the POS head of their party. They would rather be in office than do the right thing.

Philly Restaurant Bans GOP Candidate After Being Told Campaign Stop Was Autism Event

“… Sfida [manager of the Philadelphia cheesesteak restaurant Max’s Steaks and who has a niece and nephew with autism] told the Inquirer it was a local Republican operative, Sheila Armstrong, who contacted him to schedule the event, which she did on behalf of her nonprofit organization, Cooking4Autism, without mentioning [GOP US Senate candidate Dave] McCormick’s campaign.

Armstrong is a member of the anti-LGBT group Moms for Liberty, which campaigns against school curricula that discusses LGBT rights or race and which the civil rights group Southern Poverty Law Center has classified as a far-right extremist group.

She was a paid staffer for the failed campaign of Republican Mehmet Oz — who lost to U.S. Sen. John Fetterman (D., Pa.) in 2022— but appears to have no official affiliation role on McCormick’s team, the Inquirer reported. …”
