Has anyone (besides me) watched Happy Gilmore 2 on Netflix?

If so, I'm curious what your thoughts were and I'd be glad to share mine. So...who's seen it?

Might be a spoiler below, so........

I watched it. Wasn't expecting much from it but it was an alright watch (6-6.5 out of 10).

Could have done without the apparent need to include practically every classic character in some form into this one. The Mista, mista lady in the graveyard was the biggest stretch in my opinion, but I found the inclusion of almost all the children of the classic characters to be a bit annoying.

Would you agree Bad Bunny’s character (Oscar)stole the movie?

I liked it. Glad I didn’t go to a movie for it. Both Bad Bunny and Travis Kelce were really good actors. The scene with Bad Bunny putting honey on Kelce was hilarious.

There's no such thing as a spoiler for a movie like this.
True.

But better safe than sorry. I know a guy that gets upset with movie trailers because he thinks that they often give away too much and he tries to avoid them the best he can. lol

I'd say I'd give it a 7 out of 10.

I knew they'd lean into nostalgia a bit, but I wasn't expecting it to be as heavy as it was. I thought the first couple were nice, then I got a little tired of it, then eventually I started looking forward to seeing how they'd reference things from the first movie. (By the time they got to the Mista Mista Lady, I really did laugh pretty hard at that one.)

I thought all the cameos were a bit more disruptive than the nostalgia bits. There must have been 2-3 dozen folks who played themselves in the movie. But fortunately none of them really disrupted anything.

It was certainly a cotton candy movie, enjoyable but really nothing there once you get into it. Unless someone I know wants to watch it with me, I'm not sure I'd ever even think to watch it again.

Yeah, don't think I'd give it another watch either unless someone really wanted to see it with me.

I'd like to see a check list of characters from the first movie to this one. It would have to be pretty impressive.

Have not seen it yet but glad to see Tim Herluny listed as co-wroter. Sandler's best work IMO has come when he and Herliny co-write: original SNL, the first few Sandler movies and the 2020 SNL return of Sandler episode. Sandler is a pretty good writer but can be formulaic somewhat withouyg someone like Herliny.
Those first few Sandler movies including Happy Gilmore are a unique blend of stupidity, everyman charm, sentimentality and off the wall fairly inspored creativity. I mean who thinks of doing a scene where the paired golfer and celeb fight at a celebrity Pro Am

I mean… I expected it to be dumb. I wasn’t expecting Oscar winning performances… but it just felt like something tossed together just for the sake of a sequel. They phoned it in big time… Killing Julie Bowen was lame.
