Tim Miller on The Bulwark agrees with you. However, when I consider the alternative and the fact that I'm the father of a transgender daughter, I'd rather support, honor, and respect one's Pride. Love and understanding over shame and self-loathing every day of every month of every year.Controversial, but as a gay man I find Pride month to be tedious and uncomfortable.

What makes it uncomfortable?Controversial, but as a gay man I find Pride month to be tedious and uncomfortable.
I don't celebrate anything but I imagine it's the feeling that it should be as pointless as celebrating being blond or tall or something. It should be just part of people being people 7/52/365 and it's embarrassing that it's not. What makes it uncomfortable?
The tedious part to me is the continuous backlash that just exhausts meControversial, but as a gay man I find Pride month to be tedious and uncomfortable.
I'm confused - do you feel that Pride Month conflicts with you treating gay people like "regular Joes and Janes"?Pride Month is designed to make straight white people feel special about themselves for being so virtuous.
Let’s just treat gay folks as regular Joes and Janes.
He's just pissed he can't have a white pride month.I'm confused - do you feel that Pride Month conflicts with you treating gay people like "regular Joes and Janes"?
Strange how you appear without fail in culture war topics, but have been a ghost in discussions about Trump’s historically incomparable corruption, the disastrous Iran War, daily evidence of Trump’s ever spiraling cognition, inflation, economic evisceration of the working and middle class, etc.Pride Month is designed to make straight white people feel special about themselves for being so virtuous.

I look around and see it everywhere, everyday. He's just pissed he can't have a white pride month.
Yeah, me stating that our gay neighbors simply ought to be treated as normal folks makes me "insecure" with "animus." OK.Strange how you appear without fail in culture war topics, but have been a ghost in discussions about Trump’s historically incomparable corruption, the disastrous Iran War, daily evidence of Trump’s ever spiraling cognition, inflation, economic evisceration of the working and middle class, etc.
Almost like you are only truly motivated by your animus and insecurity.
I'm a straight man, so my take matters even less than usual here. But I view Pride Month not as pride in being LGBTQ, which I agree should be a nothing to society. I view it as pride in being authentically yourself and pride in being part of a community that has endured hatred and prejudice and bigotry and tragedy and has persevered to earn rights they should have been entitled to from the start. It's about an experience, not a trait.I don't celebrate anything but I imagine it's the feeling that it should be as pointless as celebrating being blond or tall or something. It should be just part of people being people 7/52/365 and it's embarrassing that it's not.
