They took Washington’s day away from him for President’s Day. Jefferson doesn’t have a day either - and he only wrote the Declaration of Independence and secured for the US a third of its land mass. James Madiso, primary author of the Constitution, nope not good enough but some obscure event in Galveston TX in 1865 gets a day. James K Polk obtained for us 25% of the Country (including California) but no day. Sad
"Ugh, Presidents Day, yuck. Also, we should have a day celebrating a bunch of Presidents."

Perhaps worthy of a day not a month of corporate “celebration.”

What about a day for Southern Christian straight White guys? We built and secured this country. They took Washington’s day away from him for President’s Day. January 6 is still available.

You guys make me so happy that I have Zen on ignore! It’s amazing that his attention quest continues to be fed. Truth is he is the only poster I have on ignore primarily due to his bosiding ignorance but by all means he obviously needs feeding or his shtick dies.

Agree 💯 But I have to take time to laugh at his absurdity.

The most frightening thing about this statement is that you actually believe it.
I doubt it, though it is ironic that white guys, who played the biggest role in the birth of the greatest country on the planet, aren't recognized as a group, but we have an entire month dedicated people who want their partner to be attracted to the same sex they are and a month + dedicated to dark skinned people from Africa.

Maybe we stop constantly dividing Americans into groups (identity politics) and just start recognizing events/accomplishments as a country?

This is the problem with the homophobes, like Zen, they ask think it's about sex, when it isn't.

You're correct it says a lot about him.

Personally, I think he's probably closeted.
Homophobe? That's funny. I've got some news for you, I've supported same-sex marriage longer than Obama.

I think it also proves without a shadow of a doubt that there's no fucking way he's an attorney.

(I've thought for quite a while now that he is a long-game troll, but that's another matter.)
You could reach out to the person he claims to be. The contact information is easy to find on Insurrectionist Smith’s website.

I'm sure any minute now you'll be telling Ram he's weird for being proud of being a southern christian straight white guy...

My guy I think you underestimate how far you can go playing life on easy mode.

He grew up the child of a doctor in the South during the baby boom and before feminism or the Civil Rights movement. He didn't have to compete with entire swathes of the population for jobs or academics. He grew up wealthy in an area ate up with poverty and had deep personal and cultural ties to established patriarchal, white supremacist institutions to offset his very apparent limitations.

Hell, he could probably be an attorney even today had he been born 30 years ago. Charlotte School of Law, perhaps. Thomas Cooley. Appalachian School of Law.

They played the largest part because they had all the power and didn't allow others to interfere. It's the very same reason that they are directly responsible for every bad decision and every discriminatory act and every American atrocity or any other American indiscretion before at least the middle of the twentieth century. What reparations have they made for that?

Get the point. If you claim all the power, you get the blame as well as the credit and if you don't think there's no blame, you're the biggest idiot in the world.

I think it should go without saying but, yes, I don't think @Ramrouser should take pride in buckets he fell into by chance.

I could be wrong, but I don't think he actually wants a holiday dedicated to white, European guys. I think his comment was taking a jab at the silliness of not having a holiday for the most important group in the country's history when we recognize other groups.
