I'm just SO angry right now. The amount of insane crap that people are spreading around is infuriating. Latest post, with a bunch of likes, on my Avery Co fb group:

"FEMA will only help with bills and rental assistance if it’s a Republican governor"

That makes no sense. I'm just also so mad because posts like these might actually *discourage* people from seeking help, which is the last thing they need!!!
 
Be 100% certain scammers, bots and bad faith trolls are going to post these kinds of things to continue to discourage and disseminate misinformation. They absolutely will post in specific FB groups and on telegram channels. They will infiltrate the smallest places to gain traction. They will also use older posts that they edit to make it look like their posts have thousands of shares/likes etc.

Agree. Russia is all over this election, and they’re seizing on every major news event. WNC is, sadly, not immune.

They are confused because their fb friends are copying and pasting FEMA info from when Trump was president.
 
Federal authorities? Local authorities? C’mon….is the sheriff holding hostages? This is such an obvious load of garbage.
 
Can we really blame foreign interference when our own citizens are complicit? I mean, we have some on this board who are exposed to the truth just by being a party to this forum and still default to the propaganda and lies against their own government.

I mean, at some point personal accountability is required. If you’re so delusional, and frankly stupid, to believe randoms on Twitter or Truth Social or Facebook over your own government, then we’re in far worse shape than effects from any foreign intentions to deceive.
 
My 15 year old son and I were talking on the way home from his football practice and the topic of politics came up, he asked me why I voted Democratic and didn't much care for conservatives. This thread reinforces my belief that modern conservatism is based on selfishness, greed and the lust for power to impose minority rule.

Trump didn’t arrive in Peru Rico until about 12 to 13 days after the hurricane hit Puerto Rico. Yet he complains about the current admin’s lack of response 2 days after the storm.
