Pretty sure Lance Browning is not a person, but the face of an online scam. An 18 year old supposed preacher of ministry that has no web presence but easily created donation and other social media accounts. All with illustrations for profile photos. A cleared out youtube channel and only links to other people preaching on rumble.

Right wing or Russian scam.

The media needs to do a better job of properly characterizing the lies from the right. Misinformation is unintentionally inaccurate information, which is never the case with the BS that right wing media, politicians, operatives, and influencers propagate. Their garbage is disinformation as it is exclusively intentional, biased, and malicious in nature. It's an important distinction.

I just saw an article about how the Land of Oz amusement park atop Beech Mountain suffered only minor damage from the hurricane. However, many of the comments below the article were not people saying they were grateful or thankful that the park was spared, but were posts slamming FEMA and the government for not doing a better job of helping people, or saying that maybe the government will buy the park and turn it into a lithium mine, and all sorts of other conspiracy crap. This stuff is literally everywhere on the net - some of it, I suspect, is being spread by troll farms/bots, but it's still there.
This whole lithium mining thing is so bizarre. The Piedmont Lithium Belt is located, brace yourself for a shock, IN THE PIEDMONT!

meantime the GQPer House speaker will not bring the House back to pass disaster relief:mad:

I was just looking at some information. The amount of moisture in Helene was 50% more than would have been expected in a similar system 20-30 years ago. Climate change not only turbocharges hurricanes into major CAT3-5 monsters, but can also dump a lot more rain.

In other words, the Western NC 1000 year flooding event was caused by increased atmospheric CO2 acting like a heat blanket. Meaning 1000 years "biblical" events will and are becoming more and more commonplace.

I don't like this post, even one bit. But it does contain information about which party wants to help their fellow Americans and which party views every national event through the lens of, "How can this help me?" So put me down for a "Don't Like" but am glad someone, yet again, pointed out the pervasive deceitfulness of "Today's GOP."

Also what looks like an Ai generated profile pic

Hardly on FB but checked in today and see several posts about how foreign countries are getting tons of US money and WNC is hardly getting anything. It’s infuriating but not about to join the conversations. 🤬

and yet NC GQPers like HY will gladly vote for a guy seeking to sabotage the emergency efforts in western NC... so sad

From the conservative Carolina Journal

A lot of people need to heed this passage from the article:

There is another opposite danger, though — that of people instinctually rejecting everything the “experts” say in favor of the skeptics. In effect, they are making the skeptics their new experts. This is often worse than relying on the former group, since at least the old experts have a proven sphere of expertise and are held accountable to a much higher degree than anonymous social media accounts.

This is the classic mistake of those "doing their own research" (i.e. hunting out obscure or fringe opinions that confirm what they already want to believe).

Yes it's clear at this point that there is nothing Trump could do that is anti-Democratic, malicious, or repugnant enough to bring HY2012 to vote against him. We could be in an American Reich 20 years from now and HY2012 would still be sitting there going "it's Dems fault for running a radical leftist like Kamala so I had no choice."
