But the sheriff does tell him they prepared - but no one was prepared or could have prepared for this scale. They were prepared to be without power a couple of days, downed trees and some flooding. NOT prepared to lose entire towns. I mean did anyone imagine the tiny Broad River upstream of Lake Lure (it's usually a trickle and not a very big watershed at that point) to wipe Chimney Rock off the face of the earth??? GTFOH if you think that was possible.
