IEDs thrown at anti-Islam/ anti-Mandami rally @ Gracie Mansion

To be clear, the IEDs were thrown at Lang’s group by counterprotesters:

The counterprotester accused of throwing the bomb was one of six people arrested after a clash with anti-Muslim protesters led by the right-wing activist Jake Lang.

Preliminary analysis of the device by the Police Department’s bomb squad found that it was “not a hoax device or a smoke bomb,” but “an improvised explosive device that could have caused serious injury or death,” Ms. Tisch wrote on social media.

Emir Balat, 18, the counterprotester accused of throwing that device and another smoking projectile, and Ibrahim Nikk, 19, who is accused of supplying one of them, were arrested on Saturday, the police said. No explosions or injuries from the devices were reported.

Charges against Mr. Balat, of Langhorne, Pa., and Mr. Nikk, of Newton, Pa., had not been determined as of Sunday, the police said.

Officers also arrested four other people, including Ian McGinnis, 21, of Philadelphia, who pepper-sprayed the counterprotesters. He was charged with reckless endangerment, assault and unlawful possession of noxious matter, the police said on Sunday.…”
 
Suspects are now in federal custody. Whew, they won’t be released tomorrow.

Mentions white supremisists but no mention of radical Islam - suspects yelled AA as they tossed the bombs.

None of this is good. None of us want any of this. I’m tired of it. Aren’t you tired of it?
 
Yes. People should be able to exercise their free speech without bombs with nails and screws in them being hurled at you.
 
One of Lang’s protesters sprayed counter protesters with pepper spray prior to the IED being thrown. It ain’t like the white supremicists were nonviolent. One of them is also in jail.

“At 12:15 p.m., one protester from the Lang group fired pepper spray at counterprotesters and was arrested, according to Tisch. Then shortly after 12:30 p.m., Tisch said, an 18-year-old counterprotester “lit and threw an ignited device toward the protest area."

Obviously. None of us disagree with that. Nobody wants their VISAs revoked for protesting either.

But this is what a Trump presidency births, both home and abroad.

I don’t want this. There had to be a better option, because this was always the route that Trump returning to The White House was going to take. This is what you chose.

But violence at protests, by protesters, is never the answer.
 
Lang’s group were protesting outside of Gracie Mansion NOT actively interfering with federal agents conducting immigration detentions. Larger issue is that NYC mayor won’t name Islamist violence and his wife likely supports it - if you look at her social media accounts. V
