Its never happening and its a bit of a flawed system. If the cabinet does decide to remove him or any president, there's a very good chance they would be out and replaced by the VP's chosen cabinet members.

Trump’s Second Administration will be filled with people loyal to Trump being POTUS and it will be filled with people whose primary goal is enacting Project 2025.

These people comprise a Venn Diagram that is almost two perfectly overlapping circles.

The Project 2025 people thought Trump was competent in 2015-2016; they quickly learned how incompetent he is. They won’t make that mistake twice.

In 2024, they’ve prepared for a Trump Presidency. If Trump is POTUS. Trump will give them cover with his base - that’s Trump’s usefulness to the the Heritage Foundation types.

Trump’s Cabinet-level and other nominees will privately and publicly profess loyalty to Trump. They’ll extol his brilliance and policies.

They’ll go to work enacting Project 2025……and praise Trump left-and-right.

Damn good chance that Musk, Theil (sp?), the Federalist Society, etc. parade a bunch of potential nominees that they’ve chosen in front of Trump.

The potential nominees will praise Trump.

Trump will pick from a group that bears a huge resemblance to Clarence Thomas, Brett Kavanaugh, and Coney-Barrett.

Trump will think he’s picked people loyal to him.

But, Trump in office has value to right-wing billionaires…..value that J.D. Vance doesn’t have.

It won't be. No one will have the guts to do it. I think this concept gets thrown around frivolously these days. The President has to be incapacitated, not a normal fool like Trump. I mean, by some accounts, Reagan could have had the 25th invoked on him.

It's worth remembering that the 25th does not simply depose the president. Rather, it sidelines the president for a bit until the House and Senate vote on retention. It's actually harder to remove via the 25th than impeachment (the former requires 2/3 in both houses, the latter only a majority in the House). There's no way that Trump would lose that retention vote absent something going seriously, seriously wrong. Maybe if inflation hit 25% or we were in open war. And because of that, the cabinet members would not even try. They would just get sacked and blacklisted and for what?

I think some of y’all aren’t factoring in the stepwise nature of some cognitive declines.

The event last night wasn’t a little alarming, it was “oh my god” alarming, and he followed it up today with a disastrously incompetent interview. I don’t think he’ll be capable of semi-passable public speaking one year from now. He already has significant challenges reading from a teleprompter, and cannot think on his feet - everything he says has been said hundreds of times and when faced with a modicum of pushback he crumples.

I think they’ll have to push him aside bc his appeal to a HUGE portion of gqpers is his alleged vitality and manliness. When it’s obvious he’s completely out to lunch, Vance, Musk, and Theil will need to backfill the void with another cult leader.

Pop-diagnosis hypothesis, I think he has vascular dementia.
