Yet that hasn’t dissuaded Israel from continuing to kill children and other civilians by the thousand to chase that “handful of guys.” Seems particularly egregious in that light, no?
Hey, you'll get no argument from me there. I wish Biden would stop funding Israel's war machine. And have for a good while. My post was merely a comment on Iran's strategy moving forward.

FTR, I am not endorsing the world view of this poster but do think the (long) post accurately captures what I’ve read about the Israelis pressing their advantages across the region against Iran’s proxies with an eye toward ultimate regime change in Iran.

Who is this tendar person? Is this person knowledgeable?

I can't believe that Israel would think it in their interest to cause mass chaos in Iran. Yes, that government is an enemy. But what will replace it? There's almost no maxim more widely applicable in the Middle East than "be careful about what you wish for."

Netanyahu seeks to draw Trump into future attack on Iranian nuclear sites

Israeli PM urges US to help ‘finish the job’ as Washington makes early maximalist demand over Tehran’s programme

“Benjamin Netanyahu has vowed that, with Donald Trump’s support, his government will “finish the job” of neutralising the threat from Iran, amid US reports that Israel is considering airstrikes against Iranian nuclear sites in the coming few months.

Trump has said he would prefer to make a deal with Tehran, but also made clear that he was considering US military action if talks failed, and his administration has laid down an early maximalist demand: Iranian abandonment of its entire nuclear programme.

“All options are on the table,” the US national security adviser, Michael Waltz, told Fox News on Sunday. The new administration will only talk to Iran, Waltz added, if “they want to give up their entire programme and not play games as we’ve seen Iran do in the past in prior negotiations”.

Earlier this month, Trump offered the Iranian regime a stark choice.

“I would like a deal done with Iran on non-nuclear,” he told the New York Post. “I would prefer that to bombing the hell out of it.” …”

Seems like taking nuclear capability from Iran is a good idea.

Yes, it is but Trump was very resistant to the idea of bombing Iran when that was what John Bolton wanted to do in Trump45. Trump47 sounds a bit more open to the idea — things have changed a lot in the last four years, too.

Iran Has Enough Highly Enriched Uranium for Six Nuclear Weapons

Iran boosted stockpile of near weapons-grade fuel by 50% since late October, according to a United Nations report, amid U.S. silence on talks

“… Iran is now producing enough fissile material in a month for one nuclear weapon, according to the report, which was reviewed by The Wall Street Journal.

Tehran’s strides come as the country has indicated an openness to negotiating with the U.S. on limits to its nuclear ambitions. The Trump administration has said it would return to a policy of “maximum pressure” on Iran but that it also wants to negotiate a nuclear deal.

Still, there hasn’t been significant direct contact between the two sides since President Trump took office. And Iran has said it won’t negotiate directly with Washington while under maximum pressure sanctions.

… The U.N. report said Tehran had amassed around 275 kilograms of 60% highly enriched uranium as of Feb. 8, up from 182 kilograms in late October. That’s a 50% jump in 15 weeks. The fuel could be converted to 90% weapons-grade material in days.

Iran, which started producing 60% enriched uranium in 2021, has expanded its production since early December, after facing a censure resolution from Europe and the U.S. at the IAEA.

“The significantly increased production and accumulation of high enriched uranium by Iran, the only nonnuclear weapon state to produce such nuclear material, is of serious concern,” the IAEA said in its report. …”
