I’m trying to understand the point of AP including that map in their tweet. It doesn’t show us where Bandar Abbas is located, it’s just a generic map of Iran. How does this add anything to this story?

You're right. Scrolling thumbnails, they want to show you this story is about Iran -- thus the discerning scroller can read if they want.

But it is hilarious when you look at it closely. It literally adds nothing, as the other poster said.

Sounds like the Israeli government plans to use the Houthis getting a bong through near an airport (a serious matter, I am not denying that) as a pretext to attack Iran and perhaps stop the U.S. engagement with the Iranians.
