The explosions came a day after an apparent Israeli attack targeting pagers used by Hezbollah killed at least 12 and wounded nearly 3,000.

Those are people who aren't connected to Hezbollah. Everyone Hezbollah would have junked their pagers immediately. I guess it wasn't as surgical as they thought.

Explain? You’re saying the walkie talkie targets were not Hezbollah?
 
If you're Hezbollah and Israel hit your pagers one day and your walkie-talkies the next...how far away from any technology are you going to stay for the near future until you can be sure your supply chain is fully secure?

Sure as shit wouldn't trust a GPS, camera, drone, drone module, or radio received in the last year.
 
They took out the upper levels of Hezbollah yesterday and went after the lower-level commanders today that had walkie talkies instead of pagers.

It really seems like a psy-ops mission. You make the opposition paranoid about all electronics for at least a period of time.
 
I heard the attack described as. "ballsy". I'm thinking have a chunk of C-4 go off in your pocket could make it a "de-ballsy" attack and lead to decreased future male fertility among Hezbollah.
 
walkie talkie death toll is now 20. More fatalities because they could fit a bugger bomb in the radios than the pagers.

It's entertaining until you consider the possibility that it could be done to the cell phones and other devices that billions of people carry around every day.

Israel intercepted and inserted explosives into the pagers/walkie talkies. Devices don't come from the factory with explosives by default.
