I’m talking about your second paragraph. In a time when many Palestinians are incredibly worried, scared, grieving, you’re going to throw that shit at them too. That’s fucked up.
What shit? They were literally saying that they wanted to punish Kamala Harris. There are interviews after interviews where people over and over again said their goal was to teach Kamala Harris a lesson. Well, good for them. Seeing as how punishing Kamala was their goal, and they didn't think at all about the welfare of anyone else, I'm all out of fucks to give.

I will always support every innocent person who is being oppressed by anyone. But FAFO is a thing. Dearborn literally did this to themselves.

I stand by what I said, I found it incredibly fucked up. You don't seem to have an issue with it.

And let me add one more thing: Notice when Israel announced that it was annexing the whole West Bank. Practically the minute that Trump was elected.

Which proves exactly what the sane people among us were saying: Biden was taking a course of action designed to steer Israel off its worst impulses, by maintaining enough influence with the country. And it was working. And now it's going to be gone in a matter of months, if that long.

So in the end, seemingly the only person in the world who was working overtime to keep the conflict from spiraling into a full genocide and possibly a regional war is the guy who gets punished, and the bad actors everywhere are still doing their thing.

I stand by what I said, I found it incredibly fucked up. You don't seem to have an issue with it.
What am I supposed to have an issue with? The Dearborn folks got exactly what they wanted. Things played out exactly as predicted. They made a choice. The wrong choice. And they didn't think about the welfare of anyone else in making that choice.

ICC issues arrest warrant for Benjamin Netanyahu for alleged Gaza war crimes

Warrants for Israeli PM and former defence minister put them at risk of detention if they go to some other countries

“The international criminal court has issued arrest warrants for the Israeli prime minister, Benjamin Netanyahu, the country’s former defence minister Yoav Gallant and the Hamas leader Mohammed Deif for alleged war crimes relating to the Gaza war. …”

“…
The court’s chief prosecutor, Karim Khan, had requested the arrest warrants in May, saying there were reasonable grounds to believe Netanyahu and Gallant bore “criminal responsibility” for causing mass starvation in Gaza that constituted war crimes and crimes against humanity.

On Thursday the court said it had found reasonable grounds to believe that Deif was responsible for crimes against humanity and war crimes including murder, torture, rape and hostage taking.

The US has previously welcomed ICC war crimes warrants against Vladimir Putin and other Russian officials for atrocities committed in Ukraine, while denouncing the court’s pursuit of Netanyahu and Gallant, a mixed stance which has exposed the Biden administration to accusations of double standards from many UN members, particularly from the global south.

The three-judge panel wrote in its unanimous decision to issue warrants for Netanyahu and Gallant: “The chamber considered that there are reasonable grounds to believe that both individuals intentionally and knowingly deprived the civilian population in Gaza of objects indispensable to their survival, including food, water, and medicine and medical supplies, as well as fuel and electricity.” …”

So what does that mean realistically for these guys? Are they basically stuck in Israel for the rest of their lives unless they want to wind up in the dock?

It means they can visit the US or Russia (eventually) whenever they want.

But not South Africa, for instance, in the case of the Israelis. Basically, they have to be careful about visiting client states of their enemies if those client states participate in the ICC. Also may be dicey to visit much of Europe.

Deif is more at risk of arrest in a wider swath of territories, maybe?🤔

Considering the lack of political leverage he has, comparatively speaking, yes. Don't see anybody rushing in to take Bibi into custody.

Dief has been dead for some time. Hamas isn't worried about his warrants.

It doesn't look like the house bill to address this is going to be allowed to move forward. Once there is a Republican House and Senate it will be addressed, which means bibi can't travel to certain areas for a few months.

France says Netanyahu has 'immunity' from ICC warrants

Provisions for immunity from prosecution at the International Criminal Court apply to Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, the French foreign ministry said Wednesday.

It said the Israeli leader was covered by immunity rules that apply to states which are not a party to the ICC. Israel is not an ICC member.

"A state cannot be held to act in a way that is incompatible with its obligations in terms of international law with regards to immunities granted to states which are not party to the ICC," the French statement said.

"Such immunities apply to Prime Minister Netanyahu and other ministers in question, and must be taken into consideration should the ICC ask us to arrest them and hand them over," it said.

Earlier Wednesday, Foreign Minister Jean-Noel Barrot had already said that France considered that some leaders could enjoy immunity from ICC prosecution.

Asked if France would arrest Netanyahu if he stepped on French territory, Jean-Noel Barrot did not give a specific answer in an interview with Franceinfo radio.

He said France "is very committed to international justice and will apply international law based on its obligations to cooperate with the ICC."

But he added that the court's statute "deals with questions of immunity for certain leaders".

"It is ultimately up to the judicial authorities to decide," he added.

The ICC this month issued warrants for Netanyahu, former Israeli defence minister Yoav Gallant and Hamas military chief Mohammed Deif. Netanyahu has slammed the move.

The EU's foreign policy chief Josep Borrell has said the arrest warrants are "binding" and should be implemented.

However unlike some European states, France has so far taken a more cautious stance on the warrants.

Barrot's comments marked the first time a top French official has evoked a possible immunity.

Do you ever stick around to comment on all the videos and articles you drop around here? You have a habit of drive-by posting that is a bit annoying.

Let's start with this video. What are your thoughts on protestors exercising their first amendment rights? Are you in favor of it? Or are you looking forward to January, when that right will be stripped away by a president who believes protestors who speak out against our government should be gassed and even shot?
I'd love to hear your thoughts. Come out from behind your passive-aggressive video-bombing schtick and actually engage in conversation.
