Richard Engel reporting that the overall feeling in Qatar and through much of the Middle East is that the US is particularly responsible for the attack in Qatar because the WH was insistent that the Hamas political leaders to be in Doha for the negotiations, where they were sitting ducks. (In his words Trump told Hamas, go to Doha or else.) He is also getting the implication from the Qataris that the WH is scapegoating them by implying Qatar is responsible for terrorism because they are so-called harboring Hamas, which was what the WH demanded.

It's being reported that those killed were responsible for ceasefire/hostage release negotiations and rejected the most recent offer.

I guess Israel wanted to negotiate with someone else.

Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu has threatened to try to kill Hamas leaders in Qatar again if Doha does not expel the group’s officials, drawing a sharp response from Doha.

Unfazed by international outrage over the attack in the Qatari capital, Netanyahu said on Wednesday that countries should “applaud” Israel for its bombing and killing spree across the Middle East.

In response, Qatar’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs issued a condemnation of the Israeli prime minister’s comments, calling them a “shameful attempt … to justify the cowardly attack that targeted Qatari territory, as well as the explicit threats of future violations of state sovereignty”.

“Netanyahu is fully aware that the hosting of the Hamas office took place within the framework of Qatar’s mediation efforts requested by the United States and Israel,” it said.

“Such statements are hardly surprising coming from an individual who relies on extremist rhetoric to win elections and is wanted for international justice, facing mounting sanctions on a daily basis – factors that only deepen his isolation on the global stage.”

In just three days, Israel has launched attacks in Gaza, Lebanon, Yemen, Syria, Tunisia and Qatar, while continuing daily raids in the occupied West Bank. On Wednesday, it killed 35 people in an attack in Yemen.

The poster doth protest too much, methinks.
excuse me? do you understand the implication of that phrase in this context? that's quite an accusation.

i don't use violent or threatening rhetoric on this site or anywhere else.

you're a raging hypocrite and your attempts to equate the 2 sides on this issue is laughable and dishonest.

I was using it in a more literal and current meaning of the words sense, not the context it was used in Shakespeare. IOW, you just complain (about me) too much.

There are two possibilities here... actually three.

1) All of the "recent" violence (I'm thinking back as far as the guy who shot Republicans at the softball game) is based solely on the political beliefs of Republicans and nothing else.

2) All of the "recent" violence l is based solely on the way Republicans are being portrayed by Liberal voices, ie fascist, neo-nazi, ruining the country, racist, homophobic, transphobic, trying to put gays in cages etc. You don't think Walz gleeful anticipation of Trump's death matters?

3) A combination of 1 & 2.

So, you really don't think that how Democrats try to portray Trump and Republicans matters?

lmao, don't flatter yourself. a lot of people on this board complain about you. i am not even remotely special in that regard.

you are living in an alternate reality. the two sides are quite simply not on remotely equal footing as far as threatening, violent, tension-escalating rhetoric. i am not claiming that dem/left voices NEVER say anything inappropriate - i'm pointing out that those occurrences are probably about 1/10 as common as they are on the right. like i kept saying yesterday, drip vs. firehose.

and this isn't up for debate. you're all over the kirk thread. the examples are replete there. you literally just acknowledged it in that thread. there is nowhere near that same volume of rhetoric coming from the left.

I don't doubt that you believe that. There is also very little chance that any of your information sources would tell you about most incidents.

For example, this from a few months ago:
