we should be putting 100% effort into the issues here in american instead of those irrelevant hostages but it makes for great tv and americans worship what they see on tv. ole tv con don is a genius when it comes to this simple fact

Yes, this relates to my point about the hostages, which people do not agree with and that's fine. The injustice here is palpable and ridiculous, and Israel needs to pay for the rebuild at a minimum. Anything less is bullshit, and it makes the hostage release look very, very weak by comparison. I understand your point to be, "eh, positive 1 is larger than zero, even if it's less than 1000" and that's not wrong in the abstract; I just fear that if we cheer positive 1, that's all we're going to get.

But also in some sense, this is a question far beyond my expertise and probably beyond everyone's expertise here.
