He's right that it is an absurd conflict of interest but it's likely going to be better for the Palestinians. Saudis have been pretty clear that there needs to be a path to Palestinian statehood. Netanyahu had come out strongly against that although that stance has softened in the face of Trump's demands and despite backlash from right-wing members of Netanyahu's coalition. Now that path could take 500 years but as long as there's a path, the Saudis are okay with it.

I honestly don't believe there will ever be a full release or exchange of hostages.

Edit: I shouldn't say ever. I would say not within the next 6 months.
