All of these new revelations support the thesis that Vance is not just an opportunistic sellout. He was radicalized over time, and especially in and around 2020-21, by exposure to the deluge of conspiracy theories and misinformation on right wing media. He’s one of those smart guys who nonetheless fell down the rabbit hole, and he no longer has the ability to discern truth from fantasy.

Somewhat disagree. I think you are giving JD Vance far more agency than I think he is due. JD Vance, in my opinion, has the same degree of agency as one of Jeff Dunham's hand puppets. And I don't think it's St. Donald of Mar-a-Lago's hand up JD's backside, if only because St. Donald is himself a hand puppet with Vlad "the Ras" Putin's hand up his backside. With JD, I think Peter Thiel's hand is the one making JD's mouth move and supplying the words. On the day that Vlad "the Ras" and Peter Thiel disagree on what is to be done, there will be blood.
