I’ve financed a number of passenger aircraft leased by this airline. I admit I was relieved to confirm this morning that the crash did not involve one of “mine” — which I know is small and petty but it was making it hard for me to breathe for some reason until I figured that out. RIP to the lost souls and hopefully the two survivors get the support they need after this.
The video of the crash is horrifying. It looks as if the aircraft may have experienced a bird strike prior to the crash, but that should not have precluded the landing gear from being lowered. Very curious to see what the investigation into the cause reveals.
