Yeah, I do think that Saturday was the official breaking point for Mack 2.0. In my view we should have already crossed that line several seasons ago lol, but this loss is almost certainly the nail in the coffin that will finally force the people that make the decisions to fire him or force him to step down.

I think he would have to somehow rip off at least 9 wins and drub State at the end of the season to save his job, which seems like an all but impossible feat right now.
So there is a chance

I’m not even as upset about this game as I should be. It just felt inevitable. I hate feeling this way.
I'm mad at myself because I left this morning to head west and just knew we would lose. Then I caught a cell signal heading back and we were up 20-0 and I allowed myself to be hopeful.

Posted this in another thread. Meant to post it here:

Help me fill in the blank:

Mack 1.0 was the best coach UNC football has ever had.

Mack 2.0 is the ___ best coach UNC football has ever had.

The whole situation is just depressing for people who care about our football program.

It was already painfully obvious that Mack’s time was up after last season. This season has predictably gotten off to a catastrophic start, and at this point everyone (Mack, admins, players, fans, recruits) knows Mack will never coach another season at UNC. A serious program would fire him now and let an interim coach try to come in and salvage the rest of the season while starting to search for a new coach (actually, a serious program would have never hired 2018 Mack in the first place).

Instead, our incompetent AD is going to try and help Mack save face and let him continue to dictate how his tenure ends like he’s won a bunch of championships for us; never mind the fact that he’s averaged 7.5 wins per season and won absolutely zero significant games. It’s a complete slap in the face to the fan base.

Mack made $200k the last 2 weeks from the University for 2 of the worst loses in memory.
