Dunno. Don't do facebook. Just reporting what the TOI reported. Should be fall off a log easy to verify if that's the way it works, though.
I don't think that was a facebook page. That was the background check on the guy. The profile photo was what he had been using, according to the report.

But again, it's just a meme. I think this guy took inspiration from Tyler Robinson. I'll bet we find other memes.

I was going to say all that sounds like the same thing as Robinson obsessed with that Groyper crap.

Sounds like he probably just shot up the building the same way the anti-vaccine nutjob shot up the CDC last month. The migrants were just extremely unlucky. We are better than pushing conspiracy theories with the hopes that this guy wasn’t a fringe leftist. If he was, which certainly seems the case right now, we condemn him and his actions. It isn’t hard.

Of course we condemn him and his actions:

None of that will stop Trump from using this to further erode our civil liberties.

Jahn fired "indiscriminately" at the ICE building, as well as at a van in the sally port where the victims were shot, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) said. The three detainees were in an unmarked transport van when they were shot, before Jahn took his own life around 7 a.m., according to the sources. He was found dead with a rifle on a nearby rooftop, authorities said.

No. Fuck no. I’m not going to take this FBI and administration’s word as truth on the matter.

What we know. Trump made some comments that put Patel on notice about his job. Trump just fired an attorney he appointed because he didn’t find evidence of a crime against trumps political foes. Patel is a lackey. He’s going to do what is necessary to keep a job in trump’s administration. As we’ve just witnessed it is essential to lie in a manner that implicates the left in crimes to maintain your job.

Twice in the past week the FBI has put out information that markings on bullet casings implicate the left and/or the queer community. There is an immediacy to get this horseshit onto social media as quickly as possible. Because of this the right will never believe anything other than the left is responsible for these crimes.

It’s possible what you said is the truth on the matter. Remaining skeptical about anything this administration and every agency it controls is paramount moving forward.

1. We know absolutely nothing about his political ideology. Fringe leftists are not the only ones who hate ICE. If this guy actually did hate ICE.

2. The conspiracy theory isn't about who did it. It's about the lies the administration tells. Here's a thought experiment: suppose this guy was a right wing anti-migrant shooter, intentionally aiming at detainees. Would Trump's people tell us that? No, they wouldn't and you know it. So the anti-ICE bullshit was coming out anyway.

And because this actually happens all the time under Trump, it's not really a conspiracy theory. It's just how they do things. How many times have they bullshitted about Kilmar or Mahmoud Khalil or the Guatemalan children etc? Too many to count.

And you have Trump talking about declaring ANTIFA a terrorist organization. Gee, why might someone think the reports are all lies?

Some of us are better than that. There will be wingnuts on here denying every piece of evidence that contradicts their worldview. There will be pages of folks that don't trust the fbi, don't trust Trump, don't trust anything except for some random people on Twitter who have wildly outlandish "proof" that happens to align with what they want to believe. Then we'll have some maga shooting and there will be a person or two on here trying to convince us that it was really some false flag antifa person. It's clockwork.

Of course it is. Trump’s own people refer to those shot as “detainees.”

Temporary only

What is a “detention facility” versus a “field office / processing site”?

  • ICE has a formal list of Detention Facilities — these are locations designated to hold people in ICE custody for extended periods (for immigration proceedings, removal, etc.). ICE+1
  • These detention facilities tend to be structured, with infrastructure for secure custody, defined visitor protocols, oversight, and longer stays. ICE+1
  • A field office usually refers to a regional or local ICE office that carries out enforcement, casework, coordination, and sometimes processing of individuals who have been arrested or detained. These offices are not primarily built for long-term detention.
  • The field office in Dallas, as described, is not among ICE’s detention facilities and is used for processing and interim holding — consistent with the “temporary holding” characterization.

Notable Protests

  1. Mahmoud Khalil protest, April 2025
Activists gathered outside the Dallas ICE office to demand the release of Mahmoud Khalil, a Columbia University graduate student whose visa was revoked. They held signs, chanted, and drew attention to his case. Dallas News
  2. Dallas Observer coverage, May 2025
Another protest outside the same field office in May where ~50 people gathered calling for Khalil’s release. Dallas Observer
